Summer, Summer, Baseball and the Playground

Tonight was a typical end of May Thursday for our family with a preschooler and first grader. Amelia had t-ball practice, so we all went to the park for some fun. Olivia played with several of her friends and Amelia did a great job...she's really progessing in her baseball skills. She wasn't happy though when Mark and the other Dads were in the field and her got her out on first

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

Not too much going on today. Mark had to work Sunday night and Monday night, so I went to work for a bit this morning and then we went to lunch at Friendlys with Mom and to grocery shop. We had our BBQ on Saturday after t-ball and a birthday party. We usually do our trip to all the local cemeteries, but with scheduling we'll probably have to split it up this year. We have been to visit my Dad's and my Grandma Trieb's graves as well as Mark's Dad's grave. Tonight for Family Home Evening we talked about what patriotism is and what Memorial Day and the 4th of July mean as well as how we can honor our country by being good citizens. The kids had fun and so did we.

Springtime in Vermont

For the most part, it's arrived..yipee! Here's Olivia in front of our crab apple tree....it's in blossom for such a short time..kinda sad...isn't it gorgeous?

Happy Girl

Wow, have you ever seen such a happy face on a 7 year old girl? While we were in Dallas last month, our good friend, Lisa, took Amelia to the American Girl Doll Store for lunch and birthday cake for her twins Jessica and Ashley. Amelia had a wonderful time and was a big help with the girls. It was really good for her and gave her a break from the Drs. appt./hospital thing. Thanks Lisa!

They're On!

Well, we snapped the hearing aids on an hour ago. Olivia seems to be doing well and enjoying them. Mark just started the lawn mower up, so we'll see how it goes with that!

Here's what the hearing aid incisions look like. Check out this website...it pretty much explains what Olivia is having done in the hearing aid department. We're excited, but a little nervous to get started with the near ones since she's had her headband since about 1 year of age!

Dallas and Back

It's always amazing to me how quickly the time goes. Since I logged on last, we've been to Dallas and back. Many of you know that we went to Dallas during the kid's school vacation in April for Olivia to have her yearly appts with the Craniofacial Team that we see and that she had the 2nd stage of her BAHA hearing aid implanted. The whole week went very well and Olivia received very good reports from all of her doctors. Tomorrow we will be able to attach her new hearing aids and are very excited to see how they work. For now, I'll attach a few pictures and hopefully get better at doing this every couple of days for updates.
